About
An Employee’s value is not measured by cost of their salary, but the impact of their contribution. Ecuazen is committed to building nearshore teams that value individuals more than nationalities. We have developed best practices for “collaborating across continents.”
Ecuazen recruits and trains people to be a full member of your team. Whether you need a single project for a couple months or you are building a dedicated nearshore staff, our people will be your people. The time zones are the same, and we know how to bridge the distance so they are not second-class employees. In addition to the Consultants assigned to your team, Ecuazen’s leaders remain involved to help ensure the relationship is succeeding.
ABOUT ECUADOR
Ecuador is a country in the Andes Mountains of South America. The capital, Quito, is located near the Equator, and at 9,350 feet, it is the highest elevation of any capital city in the world. The Galapagos Islands, one of the more famous regions for their unique wildlife, are part of Ecuador. Cuenca, the third-largest city in Ecuador, is the original source for the straw hats that were later know as “Panama” hats. Ecuador uses US Dollars as its local currency.
Ecuador has a proud history dating back to pre-Incan cultures. As a culture, the people of Ecuador value education, and many receive degrees in Europe. As a culture, people in Ecuador tend to be more friendly, optimistic, and happy. The expectation is that people will exchange pleasantries at the start of most meetings, and Ecuadorians tend to be fiercely loyal.
Fun fact: With Quito and Cuenca in the mountains, almost all homes lack heating or cooling. The temperature outside is the temperature inside. Do not be surprised to see someone wearing a coat on camera.
Ecuazen respects individual people, teams, cultures and genders. Businesses are a collection of people working together towards a common goal. Each of those people have personal lives with family obligations, and Ecauzen makes every effort to be understanding and supportive as much as possible. People come with different backgrounds and different cultures, and that diversity makes us stronger. Just because a different country does something differently than the US does not make it wrong.
We Collaborate without regard to borders. Ecuazen values Collaborative teams all working together and pulling in the same direction. Collaboration starts with Respect, and leaders who listen. When we disagree, we listen and then we commit to a decision. No one should be excluded because of where they live or work. Whenever practical, Ecuazen prefers agile methods, and we focus on continuous improvement. Everyone has a role to play, and good ideas come from people, not org charts.
Ecauzen conducts business with Integrity. We treat customers like part of our family, and recommendations are based on best practices and not sales. There is plenty of business to be had doing things that right way that we do not need to cut corners. Ecuazen pays fair wages at or above local rates. We do not discriminate based on ethnicity, nationality, gender, race, religion, family status, or orientation, whether or not it is compelled by local law.
